1,481,610
That represents:
290,510, the number of votes Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) received in 2018, his last U.S. Senate race Wiki
PLUS
1,191,100, the number of votes Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) received in 2018, her last U.S. Senate race. Wiki
Which means that 290,510 Americans from West Virginia (a small, rural, very red state) and 1,191,100 Americans from Arizona (a medium-large, urban, very purple state) are determining for the remaining 329,518,390 of us---including President Joe Biden and the entire Democratic Party---the legislative agenda that will shape all of our lives, determine our economy, decide who wins elections, and chart our response to the climate crisis, for the foreseeable future.
That’s it: 1,481,610. 290,510 + 1,191,100.
Which is, by the way, with a national population of approximately 331,000,000 people
4.4%: 0.8% for Manchin plus 3.6% for Sinema.
.
I have nothing against the good people of West Virginia or the good people of Arizona. And I have nothing against either Sen. Joe Manchin or Sen. Kyrsten Sinema. I’m sure these senators are motivated by the same conflicting desires common to national politicians in America; namely, to do what they think is right and to make as much money as they possibly can from their public service positions.
BUT…If these numbers don’t tell you something isn’t working right in America, I don’t know what will.
1,481,610 voters. 4.4% of the population. They're running the show. This is nuts.
Keep it real! And wear your damn mask!
