TICK TOCK THE CLIMATE CLOCK PART SEVENTEEN – POSTSCRIPT

Heat Kills.   In Berlin.   This just in from my friend, H. A workman approximately 50 years old was found dead lying half-in and half-out of the elevator on the top floor of H’s building in Charlottenburg.   (Not the building pictured.)  The workman had been removing shelving from an apartment on the 5 th floor, the top floor of the building, below the roof, and stacking it in the elevator.   He would then ride the elevator down to the first floor, unload the shelving, carry it down a short flight of stairs to the front door, and stack the shelving there.   Then he would hurry back up the short flight, ride the elevator up to the 5 th floor again and continue with his work.   H determines that the workman died between 2 pm, when her visitor used the elevator to leave the building, and 3 pm, when her DHL deliveryman couldn’t call the elevator.  The outside temperature in Berlin hit 34°c. today between 2 and 3 pm.   H estimates ...
