So, (to borrow the Millennials’ ubiquitous introduction), here is my blog’s raison d'être. I love words. I love language. I love to write. Putting thoughts on electronic device is a balm for the soul. It’s the steady, outstretched hand of Rodin’s Monument to Victor Hugo calming the restless waters. It’s a respite and a clarifier. It’s a Pepys for my peeps. It’s a necessary distraction…“given where we are.”
AC. TU. AL. LY is (actually) a Tagebuch, a Day Book of random thoughts, observations, and impressions that tumble through the diurnal cycle. These might be mundane or inane (did she say insane?), and sometimes profane, but they will always be actual, current, truly real, and really true. There will be commentary on art exhibitions and cultural events; tips on travel in Italy; book, podcast, and Twitter recommendations; the inside skinny on what’s going on in Berlin; and sharing the quotidian pleasures of simply being alive. Truth be told, there will also be a little socio-political-economic haranguing… “given where we are.” Plus the occasional cat picture.
So. Although my posts in AC. TU. AL. LY are by necessity a monologue, I encourage dialogue, and your comments are most welcome!
Keep it real,
Marilyn
